Oct. 31, 2011—
RFID Journal LLC announced today that it has appointed veteran technology journalist Edson Perin as the editor of
RFID Journal Brasil, the company's Portuguese-language Web site for readers in Brazil. Perin will be responsible for managing the site's editorial content, and for writing articles covering the deployment of
radio frequency identification technologies within that country.
"Brazil is a fast-growing
RFID market with some interesting deployments," says Mark Roberti, the company's founder, "so we are very excited to have a journalist of Edson Perin's experience and reputation running our Web site there."
RFID Journal Brasil features daily news updates, case studies, feature stories and other RFID-related content. Under Perin's guidance, Roberti says, it will provide the same high-quality editorial content for which RFID Journal is known throughout the world.
Perin, a journalist with a degree from the
University of São Paulo, is the author of
TI Para Negocios (Netpress Books, 2010). He has more than 23 years' experience as a reporter, editor and columnist for Brazilian media companies, including
Rádio Eldorado,
O Estado de S. Paulo Group,
Rádio Jovem Pan, the
Bandeirantes radio and TV network,
InformationWeek Brasil and
Valor Econômico. His reporting has focused mainly on how information technology can help companies grow and become more successful.
"RFID is clearly moving into the mainstream, so the
RFID Journal Brasil Web site will be a critical resource for end users of the technology, as well as solutions providers, systems integrators and others," Perin states. "I look forward to expanding the content and serving our readers in Brazil."
