Gemalto provides TSM for mobile NFC ticketing in France

Gemalto has been selected by French transport group Keolis to provide and operate the Allynis Trusted Service Management (TSM) services for the NFC mobile ticketing roll out in the territory of Caen la mer.

The Caen urban area transport organization Viacités decided to offer a new service to bus and tram passengers using the Twisto network managed by Keolis. The service went live on June 17 and passengers using public transport in the city can enjoy transport services simply by using the “Twisto” ticketing application downloaded onto their NFC mobile phones.

Transit passengers in Caen are now able to use their NFC mobile phone to ride city transportation with ease. Registered passengers can purchase tickets directly from their phone or load their subscription. To ride the city’s Twisto bus or tram services, they simply wave their phone in front of a contactless reader to validate the ticket. Regular commuters as well as visitors to the city can use this new service.

Gemalto’s Allynis TSM is a complete offer that facilitates mobile payment technology bridging the gap between various financial institutions and mobile operators, while also benefitting from end to end security encryption and secure loading onto OTA platform. The Gemalto TSM is provided as a hosted service as well as associated support and maintenance.

International payments processor SIA has also recently joined with Gemalto to provide rapid deployment of NFC services across Italy using the Allynis TSM. SIA intends to bring Italy to the cutting edge of mobile payments by forging a secure, scalable infrastructure that ensures full interoperability and can seamlessly accommodate new service providers. Some 200,000 contactless payment terminals are expected to be deployed in Italy by year’s end.
